EOTC: Minibeasts at the Museum

Last Wednesday we went to the museum.

We saw lots of things and learnt about arachnids, insects, prey and predators. 

Our favourite parts were going into Weird and Wonderful and seeing the many different minibeasts. We also enjoyed going into the Volcano house- some of us were scared.

Learning with St Johns

We learnt about emergencies and what number to call- 111.

We learnt what emergency we need to ask for:

If someone falls off the roof- we need to ask for an ambulance.

If someone is breaking in to our house- we need ask for a police officer.

If the house is on fire- we need to ask for the fire fighters.

Whaea Sue taught us about oxygen and how to bandage people when they are hurt.

She showed us her mini ambulance and how we need to move out of the way when it comes. 

Interclass Netball Compeition

Here are some pictures of Room 14 playing Netball.

We had to play Rooms 19 and 26.

We won both games and became the Year 1/2 champions at Clendon Park School. 

Wow, where to start...Testing is all done for the year so Room 14 and myself took the opportunity to reflect on our progress and achievements for the year by looking at our Term 1 writing samples (the left hand side) and our Term 4 writing samples (the right hand side). We were all so amazed to see the progress each student has made and what they are capable of writing on their own now. Their ideas have detail, stories include capital letters and full stops, stories make sense, they have the writer's voice and so much more.

I am so happy with each individual's progress that I thought I would share the joy with everyone else too.

Athletics Day

On Friday, was Athletics day. We ran 100m against other students the same age as us. Some of us got into the finals. We were very excited. Justice and Filipe came first and second in the year 2 100m finals.

Well done to everyone in Room 14 who tried their hardest!

The highlight of our day, was watching the Mums, Dads and Teachers compete in the relay against the students. That was cool!
